Brococaw and Beercan Quiche Please.
After a hard weekend at the boyfriends not being allowed to stir or touch a thing. I got home and went a bit cooking maaaad.
I made the best quiche i've ever tasted - and although i was missing a few ingredients, i improvised like a ninja.
Ingredients
PASTRY : 175g plain flour, 75g butter, a tinkle of salt and water.
FILLING : 200ml milk, 5 eggs, lardons, brocoli (about 4 or 5 sprigs), 1 red onion, Spinach, 200g cheddar cheese, butter for frying, salt and pepper to make it taste magnificent.
HOW I DID WHAT I DID.
1. Whack the flour and the butter together until it makes breadcrumbs. Put in a tiny bit of salt and add enough cold water to make it all lump together. Plonk it in the fridge for a bit.
2. Preheat the oven to 190C.
3. In a pan fry the onion in a bit of butter and add the lardons and then the brocoli. Let it all get nice and crispy and then take it off the heat.
4. Roll out the pastry and butter a 22" inchish flan tin majig. Put the pastry into the tin cover with baking parchment and then fill with baking beans. Blind bake it for about 25 minutes. Then take it out and remove the beans.
5. Grate the cheese and put it in the pastry case, then put in the onions, brocoli, bacon and finally the spinach.
6. In a bowl whisk the milk with the eggs and add salt and pepper. Cover all the ingredients with the milk and egg mixture.
7. Put it in the oven for about 30 minutes and voilĂ YUM YUM
